Ham Radio Adventures is going to Pacific Beach

Join us for our 2nd Ham Radio Adventures – Pacific Beach adventure.  Last year was a blast and this year looks like it is shaping up to be even better.

Dec 9-12 in Pacific Beach, WA

This will be a fun filled weekend to meet fellow hams interested in getting out of the shack to play radio.  Bring your go kit/bag.  This will be a great opportunity to show off your equipment and see what other hams are using as well.

We have a few fun activities planned such as:

  • An antenna building workshop where you will wind your own coil and build an HF antenna build. (Additional $26.50 for a Long Telescopic whip)
  • A hands on class in setting up and deploying a Raspberry Pi for use in ham radio communications. (Bring your own Pi 3 or Pi 4 and radio interface cables and we will provide the SD card.)
  • A primer in fox hunting with a fox hunting contest.  (A 2m/70cm HT and fox hunting gear will be required.  Parts to build a tape measure yagi will be available)
  • A hands on class on how to work amateur satellites
  • An attempt to earn the POTA Kilo award at K-3241

The rest of the time will be for going out and activating Parks On The Air stations or enjoying the coastal Pacific Beach area.

We plan on activating the following Parks On The Air POTA entities:
