Pacific Beach 2024
Oct 9th – 14th in Pacific Beach, WA
Join us for our 5th Ham Radio Adventures – Pacific Beach get together. Each year this event has grown and been a great success.
This will be a fun filled week to meet fellow nerds with an affinity for RF. If you are interested in getting your ham license come on down and test. If you’re interested in getting out of the shack to play radio, teach, learn, or just a romantic walk on the beach with your Baofeng, this is the event you are looking for. Have a crazy idea for an antenna and need extra brain power and hands to pull it off? This is the place to do so. This will be a great opportunity to bring your go kit/bag and show off your equipment and see what other hams are using as well.
We have a few fun activities planned such as:
- Parks on the Air – Rove to 10 different parks in the area.
- A hands-on instruction on how to work amateur satellites, make your first contact.
- * Meshtatic – Crash course in what Meshtastic is and how to setup and use.
- Janky antenna WSPR Challenge – Teams will be made
- * Small kit building – build an offset attenuator for fox hunting.
- Fox hunting for beginners and advanced. Bring your hunting gear. Parts to build a tape measure yagi will be available.
- VE session (Tech – Extra).
- * Antenna building. Build your own linked dipole antenna. There will be a few kits on hand for purchase. (Kits for sale onsite for approx $30.)
- Prime rib night
- Pizza night
The rest of the time will be for hanging out going out and activating Parks On The Air stations or enjoying the coastal Pacific Beach area.
